Customize a Baserow Table - Menu, Webhooks, Export

Renaming a table, reordering it, wiring up a webhook, or exporting its data all live in one place in Baserow: the three-dot menu ⋮ next to the table’s name in the sidebar, without touching the table’s actual structure.

Overview

Table settings control how a table behaves and how it talks to outside systems. Unlike field-level settings, which affect a single column, table settings apply to the whole table and its data. They live in the three-dot menu (⋮) next to each table’s name in the sidebar; a few settings, like reordering, work directly through drag-and-drop in the sidebar without opening a menu at all.

Organizing Tables

Renaming. Give a table a clear, descriptive name that reflects its purpose and content - this matters most in databases with several similar tables, where generic names like “Table 1” cause confusion. To rename a table, open the ⋮ menu next to its name, select “Rename,” and enter the new name. Names can change at any time without affecting data, views, or relationships with other tables.

Reordering. Arrange tables in the sidebar to match the workflow: frequently used tables near the top, related tables grouped together. Click and hold a table’s name, then drag it to the desired position.

Table Operations

Duplicating. Creates an exact copy of a table’s structure and data - useful for templates, testing changes without touching the original, or setting up similar tables for different teams. Available from the table menu (⋮); the copy appears right below the original. Fields, data, views, filters, sorts, and formulas all get duplicated, but row revision history and webhook configuration do not. See Create a Table for the details.

Deleting. Removes a table that is no longer needed, moving it to the trash with a recovery window before it’s gone for good. Available from the table menu (⋮); confirm the deletion and use the 5-second undo window if you change your mind right away. See Delete a Table for the details.

Data Management

Exporting tables. Export a table’s data for backups, analysis in an external tool, or sharing with people outside Baserow - the open-source edition supports CSV export, a universally compatible format for spreadsheet apps and databases. Pasting multiple cells. Speed up data entry by copying and pasting several cells at once from a spreadsheet or another source: select cells in Excel or Google Sheets, copy them (Ctrl/Cmd + C), click into the target cell in Baserow, and paste (Ctrl/Cmd + V). Baserow maps the pasted data onto the table’s structure, filling cells in the same pattern as the original selection, and it respects field types along the way - numbers land in number fields, dates in date fields. Webhooks

Webhooks. Send real-time notifications to external systems whenever data changes in the table - useful for triggering external workflows when new rows appear, alerting on specific field updates, or forwarding data to another system through a platform like Zapier or Make. Configure a webhook from the table menu by specifying the URL to notify and which events trigger it (row created, updated, deleted).

Frequently Asked Questions

Can table settings be customized per view? Table settings apply to the whole table across every view. View-specific settings - filters, sorts, field visibility - are configured separately through view customization .

What happens to webhooks when a table is duplicated? Webhooks are not duplicated along with the table - after duplicating, reconfigure them on the new table to get the same webhook behavior.

Can a table deletion be undone? Yes, an undo button appears for 5 seconds right after deletion. After that, the table moves to the trash, where it can be restored during the grace period - once that period ends, the deletion becomes permanent.
