Leaving a Baserow Workspace - What You Need to Know
Leaving a workspace only removes that one member’s access - it doesn’t touch the workspace itself or anyone else’s data - and this article covers what leaving means in practice, the last-admin restriction, and how to get back in later.
What Happens When You Leave
The moment a member leaves a workspace, they immediately lose access to every database, table, and other content in it - the workspace itself keeps running for everyone else. Nothing that member created goes away: other users still see and edit the tables, rows, and databases they were involved in.
The Last-Admin Restriction
A workspace’s last remaining admin cannot leave it - before doing so, either promote another member to admin or delete the workspace outright if nobody needs it anymore. For how roles are assigned and changed, see Setting Up a Workspace .
How to Leave a Workspace
- Open the home page and go to the workspace in question.
- Click the workspace name to open its action menu.
- Choose Leave workspace.
- Confirm the action in the dialog.
Rejoining Later
There’s no way to rejoin a workspace on your own after leaving - a workspace admin has to send a new invitation. If rejoining is likely, it’s worth arranging that invitation with an admin ahead of time.
Leave or Delete - Which One
| Situation | Recommended action | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Only you were using the workspace, and the work is done | Delete the workspace | Frees up the data and resources entirely |
| Other members are still working in the workspace | Leave the workspace | The workspace stays active for the team |
| You’re stepping down as admin | Leave after handing the role to someone else | Keeps the team’s work uninterrupted |
| The data might be needed later | Export first, then leave or delete | Preserves the data regardless of what happens next |
Before leaving, it’s worth exporting anything you’ll still need - covered in Export Workspaces .
What’s Next
If a workspace needs to be shut down entirely rather than just for one member, the next step is Deleting a Workspace .
